In a galaxy to which humans have never been able to venture existed a planet, a planet which is far more than means for other life to exist. The planet does not exist for the sole purpose of being somewhere other beings and creatures can live and survive, it itself is a conscious being of mind and body. This fact sparks the source of many myths, legendary events, questions of what it means to be alive. Asperio, as the planet is known, is similar to 'Earth' as both planets are able to sustain life both flora and fauna alike, both are able to maintain landmasses, oceans, variant weather (seasons).
How Asperio is a 'being', no one truly knows, however many have conjured up their own theories as to what Asperios really is. Some say he is a God that has taken on the form of the planet to give life as he was unable to find a wife, so has used his powers to sacrifice himself into this form. Giving life, inspiring and educating all of his 'children' (all of the inhabitants), while punishing those who go against his laws. Asperio frequently 'gifts' items and tools that would help the animals.
The land of Asperio is a settlement of five islands all surrounding a central landmass, not all explored and with plenty of territories to be discovered. By rights, the central island is not allowed to be claimed as a faction's own territory as it serves as a vital way through between the islands, as they are all connected to the central island and not to each other.
The occupants of these islands have settled to form five main factions; each wanting to gain settlement of the central island which would then lead to complete dominations. Asperio itself dictates that no factions can be formed on the central island at all as it is an arterial route between all the islands and its inhabitants. Despite this, there are some, not always in Factions, who are determined to find a way to settle on the central isle and use that as leverage and demand.
Due to this, the factions are often at war with each other, slowly refusing to allow loners, allies and those who are unrelated to the issues pass, as well as some not allowing natural prey movements and forcing them to remain within their territories.
As more tension builds, Asperio has been noted to be offering up tools and weapons as well as other materials to aid each in their own battles.
All playable characters (PCs) have the ability to have mutations, communicate with each other and override the predator-prey trigger that would naturally occur. However, animals that are just in the background like generic animals that may be hunted will not have the conscious ability to communicate with the PCs and vie for their lives.
As the PCs have higher conscious abilities and are of a sentient stature they have managed to learn how to make and perform magic, although it is a learned trait. They also have learned to use the tools and items that Asperio 'gifts' to them to aid their day-to-day livelihood.
There may be sub-plots that happen from time to time and those will be announced as and when it comes about.
